Robert Lebeck captured current events in his colorful portraits and genre scenes from Germany and the world. He was incredibly lucky: he lived through a period of prosperity in western Germany, and the "Stern" sent its photo reporter out to the political hot spots, the exciting, wonderful and miserable places, to the people and events. Lebeck photographed time periods, thinking spaces, cultural spaces. He illustrated the Germans' idea of the big and small things out in the world.
