Myths and legends are often inspired and shaped by geological landscapes. Similarly, British photographer David Parker uses nature as a setting for the personal exploration of new mythical, symbolic and metaphorical motifs, a theme he previously developed in his award-winning book The Phenomenal World (2001). Building on this work, Myth and Landscape brings together works from the Sirens and New Desert Myths series, two larger projects that were created in parallel and share a common aesthetic.
