Franz Münster (1898 – 1974) received countless awards, medals and certificates in national photography competitions. The work of the amateur photographer, who worked as a self-employed photo reporter in Hamburg from 1927, is impressive and diverse: in addition to pictorialist genre scenes and idyllic nature shots, influences from avant-garde photography can already be seen in his later works.
